TIMBER FRAME SAWHORSES PLANS

I designed and built these to be the sawhorses that build my timber frame barn. They are a bit showy in that they have double sliding dovetail tenons connecting each leg to the top. The stretcher is connected to the legs with double wedged through mortise and tenon joints. Lastly, the legs connect to the feet by way of bridal joints.
I built my sawhorses using Purple Heart for the strength of the lumber (and because I had it kicking around my shop). But, these sawhorses would be equally impressive and amply stout built in white oak, hard maple or a variety of other tight grained lumber species.
Included with these plans is the full set of plans for my Bandsaw Sliding-Dovetail-Tenon Sled of which I believe to be extremely helpful for cutting the leg-to-top joinery mentioned above.
